Huntsman Cancer Institute Leadership and Advisory Groups
Cancer Center Leadership Committees develop coordinated strategies, evaluate activities, address challenges, identify opportunities, and maximize Huntsman Cancer Institute’s potential to impact cancer. These include the Research Executive Committee; the Clinical Research Executive Committee; the Research Leadership Council; and the External, Internal, and Community Advisory Boards.
Research Executive Committee
The Research Executive Committee (REC) serves under Corneli Ulrich, MS, PhD as the senior management and governance body for the Cancer Center. The REC is composed of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s Senior Directors and Director of Research Development. The REC is responsible for strategy, policy, evaluation, and high-level management of Huntsman Cancer Institute’s research activities. The committee advises Dr. Ulrich on all issues related to research.

Clinical Research Executive Committee
The Clinical Research Executive Committee (CREC) oversees the clinical research enterprise, governing clinical research strategy and policy. The CREC establishes priorities for the Clinical Trials Office, reviews monthly accrual rates, monitors inclusion of women, minorities, and children, and facilitates the integration of clinical research into other areas of Huntsman Cancer Institute. The CREC resolves conflicts, develops policies, and enforces clinical research practices.
