Dear Health Science LEAP Graduates

Dear Health Science LEAP Graduates,

It was wonderful to reconnect with so many of you at our closing dinner on April 14th. For those of you who were not able to attend, please know that we missed you, and a certificate, LEAP scholars cord, and a book with pictures and descriptions of your future plans are waiting for you in my office.

The last two-and-one-half school years have been extremely challenging for all of us and yet I am constantly amazed at the resiliency each one of you has demonstrated. The vast majority of you, who began Health Science LEAP as freshmen, have either graduated or will soon graduate with your BA or BS. Many of you are moving on to graduate programs, medical schools, physician assistant programs, nursing programs, dentistry, pharmacy and various other professions.

When Dr. Bliss asked me to take her place as the Health Science LEAP professor, she told me it would be the most rewarding teaching experience I would ever have, and she was absolutely correct. It has been my honor to be a part of your undergraduate experience and to watch you mature into our future leaders, scholars, and health care professionals.

You are indeed the future, and I am confident our communities will benefit from the work and service you will provide. You are exceptional human beings and our future is brighter because of you.

Continue on the path that you have created for yourself, and please stay in touch.

Sincerely,

Dr. Wood
Professor/Lecturer
