Torri Metz, MD, MS Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, a Maternal-Fetal Medicine sub-specialist and Vice Chair of Research of Obstetrics and Gynecology to serve as the Associate Editor of Obstetrics & Gynecology. Below are excerpts from the press release: "The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) is pleased to announce the selection of Dwight J. Rouse, MD, MSPH, to serve as the Editor-in-Chief and Torri Metz, MD, MS, to serve as the Associate Editor (Obstetrics) of Obstetrics & Gynecology. "Torri Metz, MD, MS, is an Associate Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Utah Health. Dr. Metz completed both her medical school and residency training at the University of Colorado. She then went on to complete her maternal–fetal medicine fellowship and Master of Science in Clinical Investigation at the University of Utah in 2012. "Dr. Metz currently chairs the Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine (SMFM) Fellowship Affairs Committee. She is a member of both the ACOG Clinical Practice Guidelines-Obstetrics Committee and the SMFM Publications Committee. She is also the Principal Investigator for the Utah Center of the NICHD MFMU Network. Over the past 3 years, she has served as a member of the Editorial Board for Obstetrics & Gynecology. "Dr. Metz has received numerous teaching awards, including the ACOG District VIII Mentor of the Year Award and the National CREOG Award for Excellence in Resident Education. Her research interests include marijuana use in pregnancy, maternal congenital heart disease, and reduction of preventable maternal morbidity and mortality."
