The SVPHS Research Unit is proud to join in celebrating Elizabeth Loertscher in being a finalist in the University of Utah staff excellence awards.
In the University of Utah's announcement, it was noted of Elizabeth: "The University’s response to COVID-19 pandemic was abrupt and dramatic. The Bioscience Programs’ transition to online format required numerous adjustments and coordination for a variety of types of courses. Elizabeth expertly moved forward in implementing faculty requests and notifying students of all changes. She not only served as a conduit of information to the students, but also alerted faculty and program directors of problems arising in the students’ adjustments, prompting town halls and other mechanisms to reduce isolation. Her talent in managing was clearly on display as she guided the Programs through the changing landscape of spring semester, including the Zoom format for capstone exams."
The University of Utah states of the award: "This prestigious award program recognizes superior service and ongoing contributions by full-time staff employees. To be selected is a very high honor and is a sign that their commitment and contributions are valued by their colleagues, supervisors and leadership of the university. Please help us in congratulating them!"
Congratulations, Elizabeth!
