What: Research Quality Compliance Network Meeting When: October 20, 2020, 2 PM Where: Zoom - contact OQC@utah.edu to join The Office of Quality Compliance (OQC) invites research administrators from all corners of the University of Utah to join the Research Quality Compliance Network. The network provides a forum for people involved in research to share and seek advice from their peers and hear the latest in quality compliance-related issues. The next quarterly meeting of the network is Tuesday, October 20 at 2:00 via Zoom. To join the network, write to OQC@utah.edu. “Even though it's about quality compliance,” said Caren Frost, OQC director, “it's also the bigger pieces that we all need to be aware of in any research context.” Regardless of job title, the Research Quality Compliance Network is for anyone who handles issues such as quality compliance checks, sponsor compliance reviews or adherence to grant requirements. Anyone who is involved in local or federal regulations review is invited to attend as well. “Our hope,” said Trent Foxley, Associate Director for Foreign Influence, “is that this network includes people from a large number of departments. The goal is to have a variety of people who are involved in different types of research sharing information about quality and compliance issues they face.” In addition to quarterly meetings, participation in the network will include virtual social events, updates from the Vice President for Research office and a directory for network members to contact each other. As Nicole Mauerman, Clinical Site Monitor, points out “this is the first time we have brought together different research departments across the University to discuss the issues and develop solutions.” OQC provides resources to researchers across campus to ensure research activities follow applicable requirements and regulations.
