What: The fifth annual Frontiers in Precision Medicine symposium When: Friday, March 27 from 8:00am-4:45pm Where: The upstairs ballroom of the Cleone Peterson Eccles Alumni House (155 S. Central Campus Drive, Salt Lake City, UT 84112) This year’s symposium is titled Frontiers in Precision Medicine V – Accelerating the Impact of Genomic Medicine. A short description of our event is listed below. Across the world, multidisciplinary teams are leveraging genomics to rapidly change medical practice through faster diagnoses, better disease prevention, and more personalized, value-driven care. At this full-day symposium, we will explore local, mountain west, and national efforts to accelerate the impact of genomic medicine for individual patients, families, and populations. Our opening keynote will illustrate how implementation strategies, along with informatics within a learning healthcare system, can extend the reach of genomic medicine and ensure its delivery to diverse populations. Our speakers will show how systematic and adaptive approaches are used to develop and implement new genomic technologies and clinical applications in healthcare systems. Throughout the day, we will highlight the ethical, legal, and social considerations required for broad uptake and equitable impact of genomic medicine.
