COVID-19 Weekly Update, November 24, 2020

Nearly one hundred people per day are being admitted to Utah hospitals. About one in fifty-two Utahns now has a known coronavirus infection, and COVID-19 is the third leading cause of death in our state, behind heart disease and cancer. As we approach Thanksgiving, please stay safe and encourage others to do all they can to reverse these trends.

COVID-19 Weekly Update, November 17, 2020

Unfortunately, pandemic trends from previous weeks continue. Approximately one in 70 Utahns now has a known coronavirus infection. We are seeing rapidly increasing numbers of cases, hospitalizations, and, sadly, deaths. As we combat the pandemic together, new testing strategies, therapeutics and vaccines offer hope for the coming year.

COVID-19 Weekly Update, November 10, 2020

The seven-day rolling average of COVID-19 deaths is now the third highest cause of death in Utah, below heart disease and cancer. Asymptomatic testing procedures, as laid out by the CDC and other federal leaders, may help us begin to curtail the rise in cases.

Drawing on our strengths as collaborators and innovators, we have begun an extensive audit of campus policies and regulations. We are committed to deliberate, careful change that will have positive, long-term impact.

COVID-19 Weekly Update, November 3, 2020

Health disease experts say that if we can achieve 95 percent of our population regularly wearing masks, we can significantly reverse our current record numbers of Utahns with coronavirus. Simultaneously, we are working with local and federal officials to modify our testing strategies. We must reverse current trends as the cold weather approaches and activities move indoors.
