For associate professors or professors, who have been on the faculty for 7-15 years and who are interested in pursuing leadership roles or exploring a new direction. The MCC is designed to help develop clarity about career direction through reflection, exploration, decision, and action, build institutional knowledge, and social capital through leadership interviews and peer coaching. Time Management (May 18 & 19)

Creative Career Roadmaps (June 4 & 5)

The Creative Career Roadmap Workshop offers faculty an opportunity to step back, reflect, and intentionally shpae the future of their academic careers. Over two immersive days, participants explore the phases of an academic career, clarify mission and values, craft a professional identity, and navigate choices and transitions with greater confidence. through guided workshops, peer dialogue, and practical tools, faculty develop a clearer, narrative, set meaningful goals, and chart a purposeful path forward in academia Link.  For more information, contact tony.tsai@hsc.utah.edu

What's Next for Me? (Sept 23 - 25)

This 3-day retreat at Solitude is designed to help people successfully navigate major transitions in life and career. Examples of transitions include:

  • Exploring new directions in life and career

  • Decision-making on new career opportunities

  • Major changes in professional role

  • Managing changes in personal circumstances

  • Navigating mid or late-career pivots

Program Goals

The program goals are to increase participants’ clarity on professional direction, provide opportunities to build social capital, and build a community within the coaching cohort.

Objectives of the Coaching Program

Mid-career faculty who complete the program will:

  • Develop clarity about career direction through reflection, exploration, decision, and action

  • Build institutional knowledge and social capital through leadership interviews and peer coaching, which will facilitate connection with career opportunities and sponsorship

  • Connect with organizational peers and develop professional networking ability

Senior leader coaches who complete the program will:

  • Hone coaching skills and gain experience as a coach

  • Develop their leadership skills through the coaching process
