Parental Resources

For additional campus resources, please visit UHEDI's Campus Resources.

A room for nursing mothers is private space a nursing mother can use to express milk. This space is shielded from view and free from intrusion of others. Nursing mother’s rooms are functional private spaces with a place to sit and access to an electrical outlet.

Check the campus map features to see if your building has a lactation space.

Baby changing stations are available throughout the University for your convenience. These changing stations are typically mounted on a vertical wall, or on a horizontal surface such as a counter-top. A typical changing station has a changing platform to be folded down to use and a restraining harness to secure the baby for safety.

These areas can also be found on the campus map. Please refer to the Center for Child Care & Family Resources for locations and more details.

    Professional Development and Funding Opportunities

University of Utah Health strongly supports faculty who are working to balance family wellness with scholarly and professional obligations. With initial funding from the Castleton Family and donations from U of U Health leaders, Dependent Care Travel Stipend funds are available to individual faculty members to offset the costs associated with dependent care (e.g., child, ill/disabled partner, or elder care) expenses while traveling to attend professional meetings, conferences, workshops, study sections, and other professional development offerings away from home.

The ELAM program has been specially developed for senior women faculty at the associate or full professor level who demonstrate the greatest potential for assuming executive leadership positions at academic health centers within the next five years. While attaining higher levels within the AHC executive ranks is the program's primary focus, ELAM encourages its graduates to pursue the full diversity of roles that offer opportunities for leadership within their organizations.
