Leadership Groups
Executive Committee
The 3i Initiative Executive Committee is comprised of faculty members from key stakeholder departments in the initiative and meets semi-annually (more often as needed) to discuss high-level initiative needs. Members of this committee are department chairs, division chiefs, program directors, or other senior faculty members and investigators.
Key areas of focus are:
- Initiative strategic planning
- Funds flow and sustainability
- Faculty recruitment (vetting, embedding candidates)
- Facilitate development/advancement opportunities
- Organizational design and infrastructure (board size, rotation, make-up)
Scientific Advisory Board
The 3i Initiative Scientific Advisory board is comprised of faculty members from key stakeholder departments within the initiative and meets quarterly to discuss initiative efforts and activities. Members of this committee are often highly engaged faculty members from 3i departments. Key areas of focus are:
- Initiative strategic planning Faculty recruitment (recruit/recommend potential candidates)
- Seed grant portfolio management (review committee)
- Invitation of guest speakers to facilitate research collaborations and grants (guest speaker visits)
- Events, symposia, and workshops to augment research funding and collaborations across the university (event organization)
- Assist in the formation and development of core research focus groups to target programmatic funding opportunities (research teams)
