IPE Small Grants Program
Program Background
The University of Utah Health Interprofessional Education (IPE) Program invites proposals requesting $5,000 or less to support the innovation of interprofessional education and collaborative practice experiences for students in the University of Utah Health and Social Work professional programs. The purpose of these funds is to help schools, colleges, or programs develop new unique, authentic, and sustainable interprofessional experiences.
When determining eligibility, we will use the World Health Organization (WHO, 2010) definition, “interprofessional education occurs when students from two or more professions learn about, from, and with each other.” Proposals must include experiences encompassing this definition of learning with students from at least two professional programs.
We will accept proposals across the spectrum of interprofessional education, but priority will be given to creating authentic interprofessional clinical experiences that impact a vast number of students. Authentic interprofessional clinical experiences include experiences where students from two or more professions work and learn in a patient-treating clinical environment within health teams and use IPE Core Competencies of values and ethics, roles and responsibilities, communication, and teams and teamwork.
