Women in Health, Medicine, & Science (WiHMS) would like to welcome faculty and staff back for the 2023-2024 academic year and take this opportunity to introduce our organization. We are a group in University of Utah Health Equity, Diversity, & Inclusion (UHEDI) that aims to ensure the “sky is the limit” for all University of Utah Health faculty, regardless of gender. We endeavor to promote faculty development, mentoring, and advocacy of women faculty at all stages of their careers by providing networking and social opportunities, linking faculty to career development resources, providing monthly events on topics relevant to women, and collaborating with other groups across University of Utah campus to advance the gender equity agenda.
We have an exciting year of programing planned for the upcoming academic year and hope you can join us! Our 2023-2024 academic year events will include:
-
A family-friendly bowling social event at the A. Ray Olpin University Union (late September)
-
A webinar and panel providing an update on the current status of reproductive rights and equity in Utah and the US (September)
-
A discussion of health outcomes associated with perimenopause and menopause (October 27th)
