Call for: Microbial Pathogenesis Training Grant Pre and Post Doctoral Applications

Now Recruiting: Microbial Pathogenesis Training Grant

Announcing openings for three predoctoral and two postdoctoral traineeships in the U of Utah Microbial Pathogenesis Training Grant program. The MPTG provides partial stipend support, supplemental research and travel funds, and training activities for graduate students and postdoctoral fellows doing research related to microbial pathogenesis, as broadly defined.

The goal of our program is to support and augment the training that students, postdocs, and clinical fellows receive within their home labs and departments. Trainees participate in year round activities of the Training Program including: MPTG-sponsored seminars, the Annual MPTG Symposium, Lunch Talks, Summer Journal Clubs, and Combined Clinical-Microbiology Conferences, where trainees present their research and participate in discussions and workshops. By the end of the training period, all pre-doctoral trainees also are expected to complete an ethics course (e.g. MBIOL 7570) and at least one course dealing with host-microbe interactions, molecular virology, epidemiology of infectious disease, or immunology.
