The DELPHI Initiative offers multiple training opportunities throughout the year. To date, we have offered workshops on Unix, Git, Python, and R.

These courses are open to all faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students. Please make sure to register ahead of time using the links below. There is a unique link for each course, so if interested in attending multiple courses you will need to click each individual course link. Please also note, all courses are being held in-person and participants must bring a laptop to all courses.

Save the Date: Introduction to Python for Data Analysis Workshop
Time: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM on Thursday, December 4, and Friday, December 5
Location: In-person, on campus. Exact location TBD.
Overview: This two-day workshop introduces the Python programming language, with a focus on using Python for data analysis, and is designed for beginners who are new to Python and coding.
Instructor: Alec Chapman, Data Scientist in the Division of Epidemiology and PhD Candidate in Population Health Sciences (Biostatistics) at the University of Utah.
Save the Date: Introduction to R for Data Analysis Workshop
Time: 9 am – 4 pm on Thursday, February 26, and Friday, February 27
Location: In-person, on campus. Exact location TBD.
Overview: This two-day workshop introduces the R programming language and is designed for beginners who are new to R and coding. Specific topics covered include using RStudio and basic coding principles such as defining variables, vectors, and data frames, pipes, data manipulation with dplyr, and data visualization with ggplot2. Keep an eye out in this newsletter for more information and a registration link in the coming weeks.
