The DELPHI Initiative offers multiple training opportunities throughout the year. To date, we have offered workshops on Unix, Git, Python, and R.

These courses are open to all faculty, staff, postdocs, and graduate students.  Please make sure to register ahead of time using the links below. There is a unique link for each course, so if interested in attending multiple courses you will need to click each individual course link. Please also note, all courses are being held in-person and participants must bring a laptop to all courses.

Upcoming DELPHI Data Science Workshops

Introduction to R for Data Analysis Workshop

Time: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Thursday, February 26, and Friday, February 27

Location: In-person, on campus. Exact location TBD

Overview: This two-day workshop introduces the R programming language and is designed for beginners who are new to R and coding. Specific topics covered include using RStudio and basic coding principles such as defining variables, vectors, and data frames, pipes, data manipulation with dplyr, and data visualization with ggplot2. Keep an eye out in this newsletter for more information and a registration link in the coming weeks.

Instructor: Brenna Kelly, PhD Candidate in Population Health Sciences at the University of Utah.

Cost: Registration costs $120/person (to be paid via chartfield or credit card). Please note that a limited number of need-based scholarships are available. If you'd like to be considered, please indicate this in the registration form. Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments will be provided both days. Payment information will be requested from registered attendees at a later date.
