DELPHI Data Science Initiative

The DELPHI Steering Committee was formed in 2022 to develop and launch the DELPHI Initiative. These cross-campus leaders have a vision of establishing a center of excellence in biomedical data science research and education through five activities:

  • Build Community: establish a community for knowledge exchange, professional development, and research collaboration and innovation
  • Facilitate Recruitment: grow expertise in biomedical data science through recruitment of data science researchers in health sciences
  • Catalyze Research: catalyze new data science research teams to facilitate collaborative grant applications in biomedical data science
  • Enhance Education: develop a world-class education program for health-related data science which will serve to recruit leading clinician scientists and obtain extramural funding
  • Increase National Distinction: establish an international reputation of the University of Utah as a premier university for health-related data science and develop local partnerships to encourage entrepreneurial endeavors and garner philanthropic and industry support
