Since becoming a University-wide Center in 2021 one of our major goals has been expanding our circles of collaboration. To receive our newsletter and information about our events and activities, please join our listserv. If you are interested in becoming more actively involved with Center activities, please apply to become an Affiliate.   Please see below for more information about the Affiliate role and click through the tabs for the application process.

Criteria
  • Evidence of intellectual curiosity in bioethics and health humanities
  • Evidence of clinical/classroom teaching effectiveness
  • Faculty or staff member of University of Utah
Expectations
  • Take a leading role in at least one Center event per academic year (teaching, facilitating, other service, etc.)
  • Frequently participate in Center events

  • Indication of academic excellence in bioethics and health humanities (university level)
  • Currently teaching (university level)
  • Evidence of a career where education is the focal point (university level)
Expectations
  • Attendance at Center meetings and named speaker events
  • Frequent participation in Ethics Explored and Literature & Healthcare Discussion events
  • 40 hrs/year (equivalent to 1 week) leading Center events (teaching, facilitating, other service, etc.)
  • Focus on education - teaching and/or curriculum development

Become an Affiliate

BEFORE APPLYING 

PREPARE THE FOLLOWING:

  • Current short CV/resume (~2 pages)
  • Short answer responses (see below)


SHORT ANSWER RESPONSES*:

  • Describe your interest in joining the Center as an affiliate
  • Describe the work you've done in bioethics and health humanities and/or what work do you hope to do
  • Please tell us about your familiarity with our Center activities
  • Eligible to teach at the university level (note: each school has their own specifications)
  • List past or current teaching positions at the University (as applicable)

*50 words or fewer per response
