The primary goal of the internship program is to connect local biotechnology companies with students interested in careers in industry and entrepreneurship.
Who Can Participate?
Any PhD student in the Health Sciences who has passed their qualifying exam and advanced to candidacy is eligible.
Program Details
- Internships will be 8-10 weeks in duration. Petitions for longer internships will be considered but must have agreement from the faculty mentor.
- Internships will run over the summer months (June to August).
- Internships are expected to be full-time and paid by the participating company.
Expectations
- All internships are expected to have an internship plan.
- At the completion of the internship students and company representatives will complete an evaluation and submit it to BREO.
- Students will be expected to give lighting talks and/or a poster in the fall following their internship to discuss their experience with their peers and potential future participants.
Participating Companies
In the application, please identify organizations you are interested in working with. Identifying companies does not guarantee placement and in some cases you will apply directly with the company offering an internship. We will update the "Active Internships" list throughout the Spring as more companies confirm availability for Summer 2025.
