Graduate Student Internship Program

Health Sciences PhD Student Internship Program

The primary goal of the internship program is to connect local biotechnology companies with students interested in careers in industry and entrepreneurship. 

Who Can Participate? 

Any PhD student in the Health Sciences who has passed their qualifying exam and advanced to candidacy is eligible.

Program Details

  • Internships will be 8-10 weeks in duration. Petitions for longer internships will be considered but must have agreement from the faculty mentor. 
  • Internships will run over the summer months (June to August).
  • Internships are expected to be full-time and paid by the participating company.

Expectations

  • All internships are expected to have an internship plan.
  • At the completion of the internship students and company representatives will complete an evaluation and submit it to BREO. 
  • Students will be expected to give lighting talks and/or a poster in the fall following their internship to discuss their experience with their peers and potential future participants.

In the application, please identify organizations you are interested in working with from the list of "Active Internships." Identifying companies does not guarantee placement and in some cases you will apply directly with the company offering an internship. We will update the "Active Internships" list throughout the Spring as more companies confirm availability for Summer 2025.

  • Personal Statement: that addresses why you want to be an intern and how the internship program will enhance your training and support your career goals (375 word limit). 

  • CV

  • Signed PI Consent Form

  • Fill out the online application

The Guidehouse Internship Program staffs Interns on real world projects, showcasing the Guidehouse culture and providing them with a meaningful consulting experience. Interns work collaboratively with our teams on both internal & client projects, and will provide real time deliverables in service of their client engagement.
