About Me
I grew up in The Woodlands, Texas, and graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s in Biomedical Sciences. My past research experiences, the DeBakey Summer Surgery Program, and interest in an ever-evolving specialty like oncology pushed me to join the Welm lab in July 2024 while I apply to medical school. As I work on processing and embedding donated tissue from the Legacy to Life program, I am also involved in optimizing the tissue collection procedure. My future projects will analyze the role of short-form RON, an isoform of the RON receptor tyrosine kinase, in treating metastatic breast cancer using mouse models. Outside the lab, I enjoy visiting my family in Peru, playing basketball, pickleball, climbing, and reading.
