About Me
Montserrat is a PhD candidate in biomedical sciences from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and a native of Mexico City. She holds a master's degree in biological sciences and a bachelor's degree in experimental biology. Her research has focused on basic and translational medicine, particularly studying biomarkers associated with chemoresistance in breast cancer and cell death pathways triggered by drugs. She joined the McMahon Lab as a volunteer focused on investigating novel therapeutic approaches for NRAS-driven melanoma. Outside of her work, Montserrat is an accomplished gymnast, having competed both nationally and internationally. She also enjoys skiing, traveling, and handcrafting activities.
