About Me
Chelsie Smith, PhD, manages the daily operations of the Center for Genomic Medicine (CGM). She supports strategy development, community building, and extramural proposal development. She provides project management support for priority genetics/genomics projects, including industry contracts and educational initiatives. In addition, she works closely with Advancement and Foundation Relations to support CGM’s philanthropic campaign.
Chelsie earned a PhD from Arizona State University focusing on method development for novel structural biology techniques and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, studying RNA structural biology. Chelsie has been in research development for over five years and enjoys catalyzing new research projects and developing/managing grant submissions.
