Colocare Study Design
The following schema from the ColoCare Study design publication provides an overview of the data and biospecimens collected at repeated time points. Please note that data and biospecimens are not available on all participants at all time points or from all study sites, as the study was implemented in a stepwise process, with limited collections at the various sites, corresponding to the development of our funding base.

Requests for Biospecimens
- Requests for the use of biospecimens will necessarily require approval by and collaboration with study researchers, as these are finite resources.
- A key criterion for approval of use of tumor tissue is a clear potential for clinical or public health impact from the planned assays.
- When a request is submitted for use of tissue that will exhaust or severely impact that which is available, the ColoCare Executive Committee will review the justification and make a determination for whether or not to deplete the tissue resource.
- If there is the possibility of combining assay procedures to address multiple questions to minimize tissue used, we will pursue such strategies.
Please note that biospecimens and data are not available on all participants because the study was implemented in a stepwise process, with limited collections at the various sites, corresponding to the development of our funding base.
We are open to collaboration with others who want to develop grants that can help complete ColoCare’s data and biospecimen collections.
