About Me
John Peterson is a medical student at the University of Utah School of Medicine. He currently works as a research fellow at the Radiation Oncology Department at HCI between his third and fourth years of medical school. His present work at HCI investigates cancer patients’ use of alternative therapies. John is also engaged in research into the use of machine-learning algorithms to improve the success of clinical trials at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He graduated from the University of Utah with an BA in biology. A lover of the outdoors, John organized “Médecins en plein air, aka Doctors Without Boredom,” a hiking group for med students that leads weekend hikes through the stunning Wasatch Mountains. John plans to apply for residency in radiation oncology.
