CQCI Pre-Clinical Research Imaging - Information for Investigators

The Center for Quantitative Cancer Imaging at Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI) provides full-service preclinical imaging utilizing small animal SPECT/CT and/or PET/MRI, including consultation, study design, image acquisition, image processing, and data analysis.

Rate Schedule for University of Utah Investigators

The standard image acquisition rate for SPECT/CT or PET/MRI scanner usage is $150/hour, billed as either a minimum half day (4 hours) or full day (8 hours). This includes scanner protocol configuration and quality control, animal preparation and monitoring, probe administration, image acquisition and reconstruction, and data archival. Additional fees are required for supplies, including anesthesia and radiopharmaceuticals, based on specific study costs.

Non-institutional investigators will incur a 50% surcharge on the standard rates. In addition, external grants and contracts may require additional Facilities and Administrative (F&A) costs according to the policies of the University of Utah Office of Sponsored Projects.
