PSTO/Adapt

The Population Sciences Trials Office (PSTO/Adapt) serves as a centralized support resource within Huntsman Cancer Institute, specifically designed to assist investigators conducting cancer-related research that falls under the category of non-treatment studies across the cancer control continuum. These studies are essential for advancing understanding in areas such as prevention, early detection, survivorship, and health outcomes.

Non-treatment research supported by PSTO/Adapt can take two primary forms:

  • Interventional studies: These involve participants undergoing some form of planned intervention that is not therapeutic in nature—such as behavioral modifications, lifestyle changes, or screening procedures.
  • Observational studies: These involve monitoring participants without assigning specific interventions, often to understand patterns, risk factors, or outcomes related to cancer.

Services

Responsibilities of program management and study navigation include, but are not limited to:

  • Formal, direct supervision of coordinators
