Ou Team Research
Inflammation, genotoxicity, and endocrine disruption are biological pathways by which environmental exposures induce cancer and other chronic diseases. Dr. Ou’s research utilizes novel statistical and data science methods to explore how environmental exposures that trigger these pathways lead to cancer and relevant outcomes in vulnerable populations. These populations include people diagnosed with cancer at age <50 years, high risk families, and occupational cohorts like firefighters.
Her most recently funded project is a five-year study of the impacts of air pollution and extreme heat on the cardiovascular and respiratory outcomes of breast cancer survivors in Utah.
