HOPE & CAIRHE 2gether (HC2) unites the expertise and resources of two leading research centers:
- The Center for Health Outcomes and Population Equity (HOPE) at Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah
- The Center for American Indian and Rural Health Equity (CAIRHE) at Montana State University
Working together to create lasting change, these centers strive to increase equitable access to lifesaving cancer prevention and control interventions in areas of persistent poverty.
Persistent poverty is a critical driver of health disparities, particularly in cancer prevention and treatment. HC2 addresses these disparities by developing and implementing a novel Reach through Equitable Implementation (REI) strategy, which is designed to expand the reach of evidence-based cancer prevention and control programs to communities affected by long-standing poverty.
Utah Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah rests on Indigenous land that reflects the rich history of our state and region. We are committed to honoring, respecting, and protecting the story and the People of this sacred place.
Montana Indigenous Land Acknowledgement
Montana State University and CAIRHE acknowledge with great respect the Indigenous stewards on whose traditional territories MSU now stands and whose historical relationship with the land continues to this day. Bozeman is located near a major traditional crossroads for Plains and Plateau Native nations, including but not limited to Shoshone, Nez Perce, Dakota, Salish, Crow, and Blackfeet peoples.
