Message From the Gaffney Lab Principal Investigator

I became interested in pursuing medicine after being diagnosed with lymphoma at age 21. I received chemotherapy and radiotherapy for a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

After this experience, I decided to pursue an MD, PhD. I was fortunate to matriculate at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW). I pursued my PhD in photodynamic therapy with Dr. Fritz Sieber. I had the good fortune to become acquainted with Drs. Frank Wilson, Beth Erickson, Colleen Lawton, and Chris Schultz at MCW.

I trained at the University of Utah under Drs. Bob Stewart, Fred Gibbs, and John Hayes. I had a superb education, and I enjoyed academic pursuits. I joined the faculty at the University of Utah, and since then I have had a wide variety of excellent opportunities.
