Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health

The University of Utah joins over 70 academic medical centers and affiliate institutions as a member of the Academic Consortium for Integrative Medicine and Health. Partnership for a Healthier America

The University of Utah joined 73 other campus communities across the country in March 2019 when they joined the PHA’s – Healthier Campus Initiative. This initiative aims to create campus environments that encourage and support increased physical activity and healthy eating for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Universities must commit to meeting at least 23 different guidelines over a three-year period. Leveraging this opportunity to support a healthy campus, the university has taken this opportunity to establish a new campus wellness committee, led by Wellness and Integrative Health. The Campus Wellness Committee has been charged by university president Dr. Ruth Watkins to identify and convene campus activities that promote living well for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Supporting a One U approach with broad representation across campus, they will advise on recommendations and direction of campus wellness initiatives, including but not limited to the Partnership for a Healthier America, Healthier Campus Initiative and promote communication to the university community and beyond.
