What is Data?

Data is the raw material that is used for decision-making, calculation, reasoning, and prediction.

What is Big Data?

There are many ways to define big data—we use Microsoft's definition. Big data describes the process of applying extreme computing power to large and complex sets of information. This information is analyzed to reveal trends, patterns, and associations.

What is Analytics?

Analytics is the process of taking data and transferring it to knowledge, actions, and outcomes. Our analysts extract information from raw data to reveal important patterns and correlations.

  • Data: Relevant facts and statistics, like health records or survey results, that are collected for analysis.

  • Knowledge: The use of statistical models, computer programming, and operations research to extract useful information and reveal hidden patterns from raw data.

  • Outcomes: We focus on predictive modeling and discovery rather than just descriptive data. Analysts communicate trends and insights through visual charts, images, and graphs. Health care professionals use these insights to discover trends, spot emerging problems, and guide proper decision-making.
