The Center for Clinical & Translation Science (CCTS) translates promising bench science into practices that improve human health. The center develops innovative health services for the community and health researchers by training a new generation of clinical and translational investigators.
Cores at the University of Utah are managed by either the Health Sciences Center (HSC-managed), the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI-managed) or the main campus (main campus-managed). Although managed separately, shared efforts campus-wide are coordinated by a committee with representation from each of these three entities, headed by the Vice President for Research.
University of Utah Health Sciences Center established the USTAR Center for Genetic Discovery (UCGD) with the goal of leveraging Utah’s unique resources to create a computational genomics hub in Utah. We develop algorithms, software tools, analysis pipelines, and data management systems that enable researchers and clinicians to visualize and interpret genomic big data.
