Expertise in the Study of Leukemia

The Deininger lab expertise is in the study of leukemia. The lab's research program focuses on the biology of myeloproliferative neoplasms and the development of molecularly targeted therapies. We are especially interested in understanding the molecular mechanisms of resistance to tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as imatinib, a drug used to treat chronic myeloid leukemia and some other types of cancer.

Dr. Deininger awarded the Rowley Prize by International CML Foundation.
