The mission and vision of the VPCAT Research Scholars Program greatly align with the annual Association for Clinical and Translational Science (ACTS) Translational Science national conference. The VPCAT Translational Science Travel Stipend is an annual opportunity only available to current VPCAT scholars with accepted posters.

With its ties to the NIH National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA), the ACTS Translational Science conference is considered one of the premier settings for dissemination of translational research. Taking place each Spring in Washington, DC, the conference offers networking opportunities; workshops and presentations focused on over 10 translational science tracks; and discussion on best practices for clinical and translational research across academic, industry, community, and federal environments. We strongly  VPCAT scholars to take advantage of this opportunity to submit a poster to highlight their original research.

Through this travel stipend opportunity, the program will support $2,500 in travel expenses (e.g., registration fees and travel-related costs) for up to 2 current VPCAT scholars with accepted Translational Science posters. Please note that any additional remaining expenses above the $2,500 will need to be supported outside of VPCAT, such as by their Department/Division.

ACTS 2023 Translational Science Conference

ACTS Translational Science 2023 will take place from April 18-20, 2023 at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC. Attendees will learn from experts in the field how to innovate translational science for research, explore research from a variety of fields of study, and build professional networks.
