Gurkan Mollaoglu, a Ph.D. graduate student in the Oliver lab, and Jared Wallace, a Ph.D. graduate student in the O'Connell Lab, has successfully passed a multi-stage, international application process to participate in the 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, which is dedicated to physiology and medicine. The Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings have taken place every year since 1951 and are designed as a forum for exchange, networking, and inspiration. In Lindau, excellent young scientists meet the most acclaimed scientists of their field. In total, 600 young scientists from 84 nations have been selected to participate in this year’s Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting. In Lindau at Lake Constance in southern Germany, they will meet 42 Nobel Laureates this summer (24-29 June 2018) for a week of scientific exchange. There will be various sessions: lectures by Nobel Laureates, discussion sessions as well as Master Classes and Poster Sessions, during which several of the young scientists will have the opportunity to present their own research in front of Nobel Laureates and get valuable feedback. In addition to the scientific programme, there will also be many social activities offering plenty of opportunity for informal exchange among the participants.
